Back to work for Thomas Laurent and Signatech Alpine Elf

August 18, 2019

On Tuesday July 24th, Thomas Laurent made his first steps in the Signatech Alpine Elf team at the wheel of the Oreca A470 #36 LMP2 during the FIA WEC Barcelona prologue. For a whole day, the Vendée driver went through a series of times to familiarise himself with this new car in which he will be driving throughout the 2019-2020 Super Season.

After more than a month of break, I am very happy to have returned to the track during the prologue with the team that made me start in LMP2, three years ago during the Rookie test. I expect a lot from this new year with a double program in LMP1 as a reserve pilot and in LMP2 with Signa- tech Alpine Elf on the track, with the possibility of fighting for victory. I had the opportunity to discover the team last week in Bourges to mould my bucket. It was an important moment when I was able to interact with them in an informal way. It was essential before I started the serious stuff in Barcelona where I met my teammates Pierre Ragues and André Negrão. They are both very experienced pilots. I have a lot to learn from them. During this first day of the prologue, I took the car in hand for the first time. I have very good sensations and the Team is listening to my feedback. I also set the best time among the crew and the 2nd of the LMP2. We have all the means to have a great season and win races. I can't wait for Silverstone!
